Whether you’re just starting out in the field or already working in mental health and want to broaden your knowledge, this course is designed to support your development. \n\nYou’ll engage with the core competencies of practitioner psychologists - such as assessment, formulation, and critical evaluation - while exploring a wide range of therapeutic models and approaches appropriate for implementation across a breadth mental health settings and a wide range of related roles. You’ll also learn how to reflect on your own practice and maintain your wellbeing as a professional.\n\n**What you’ll gain**\n\n\n- Learn about psychological therapies and the evidence behind them\n\n\n- Develop insight into therapeutic models and associated techniques and understanding of assessment, formulation, and reflective practice approaches\n\n\n- Gain skills in in research and academic writing\n\n\n- Learn from experienced practitioners and researchers\n\n\n**What you'll study**\n\nAcross the UK and internationally there’s a growing demand for people with a strong understanding of psychological therapies and how they can support mental health and wellbeing. This programme is designed both for those at the start of their career who want to build their understanding of the field, and for professionals in areas such as mental health, social work, education, HR, or the voluntary sector who want to deepen their knowledge and skills.\n\nYou’ll critically explore different ways of understanding mental health and distress, and examine how social and cultural contexts influence both problems and recovery. The course introduces you to a range of therapeutic models and helps you evaluate their evidence base and relevance to different presentations.\n\nAlongside this, you’ll develop core practitioner-relevant skills in assessment, formulation, critical thinking, and reflective practice.
