"entryRequirements": "A minimum of a 2:1 UK honours degree in a medical degree (MBBS, MBChB), biology, biological sciences, pharmacy, dentistry, nutrition, nutritional science, human nutrition, dietetics, biochemistry, microbiology, medical microbiology, chemistry, biomedical science, natural sciences, pharmacology, physiotherapy, osteopathy, sport and exercise science, psychology (occasional route only), or a recognised equivalent international qualification.\n\nNot accepted: Lower qualifications in nutritional therapy; nutritional therapy diploma from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition.\n\nSelection process\nSelection will be based upon the candidate’s application and references. "summary": "**Why choose this course**\n- Gain a deep understanding of the complex relationships between nutrition and health, and how nutrition can be used to prevent, manage and treat disease.\n\n\n- Take advantage of a highly flexible course where you can choose which modules to study and when, with each module only having three consecutive in-person teaching days (four days for the first module).\n\n\n- Expand your network by meeting fellow professionals on the course, from consultants to GPs to company directors – you’ll connect with people from a variety of backgrounds with a shared passion for nutritional medicine.\n\n\n- Learn from lecturers who have been awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education in recognition of their research excellence in the field of food and nutrition.\n\n\n- Get the academic requirements needed to register with the Association for Nutrition (AfN) to work as an associate nutritionist once you’ve graduated.\n\n\n**What you will study**\nOn our Nutritional Medicine masters course, you’ll develop a critical and scholarly approach to theory, practice, literature and research findings.\n\nYou’ll study topics such as nutrition across the life course, lipids, dietary minerals, nutritional epidemiology, food allergy and intolerance. You’ll also have optional modules to choose from on topics including antioxidants and phytoprotectants; diet, brain and behaviour; and nutrition and exercise for health and sports performance.\n\nYou’ll complete a research dissertation that will allow you to carry out studies on important topics in the field. We’ll match your interests with the expertise of our researchers, ensuring you get the best support. ",
