"summary": "Psychology gives us valuable insight into many areas of life — from human behaviour in the classroom or courtroom to animal cognition and natural selection. This BPS accredited Master's is designed for students who have undertaken a degree in another subject and are interested in getting a qualification in psychology. \n\n\n- No prior psychology undergraduate degree needed\n\n\n- Learn from experts in the field who take a rigorous, biological approach to psychology, studying it as a natural and experimental science \n\n\n- Receive hands-on training across a wide range of research methods (including qualitative methods) and the opportunity to apply these methods through empirical studies in either laboratory or naturalistic settings\n\n\n- Benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including the Electroencephalography (EEG) Lab and the Behavioural Lab, where computer-based experiments can be run using various psychological software tools\n\n\n- Excellent employment prospects with students progressing onto research PhDs, further studies for pathways into clinical training, forensic psychology, organisational psychology and careers in social work, coaching or education\n\n\n**What you'll study**\n\nThis multifaceted programme will help you take your first step towards a career as a psychologist. In the first semester, you will cover a range of key areas including cognitive psychology, social psychology, and research methods, as well as mental health.\n\nIn the second semester, you will cover psychology in more depth, focussing on further research methods (including quantitative methods), developmental psychology, individual differences, and biological psychology. \n\nThrough these taught modules you will build up a strong knowledge base to build a research project, which you will undertake in your final semester.
