"modules": "The course may be studied full-time over 12 months, or part-time over a longer period. You will study eight modules and complete a research project, which is carried out over the summer and submitted in September.\n\nYou will study four modules in the first (autumn) semester followed by four modules in the second (spring) semester, and complete your research project by the end of September. You will attend lectures and group tutorials. There is also a range of practical sessions and visits to local farms, commercial properties and rural estates where owners, occupiers and their professional advisors can provide additional insights into the management of rural property. \n\nAssessed coursework features strongly throughout the course. Examinations will take place in January and June. They often, therefore, support a diverse range of rural businesses and enterprises including farming, food production, tourism and energy generation. In addition the way in which rural land and property is managed also plays a vital role in the health of the natural environment in rural areas, and also in the life of the communities within it. Land and rural property managers are therefore required to provide a wide range of advice to not only estate owners, but also farmers, tenants and rural business owners. This leads to a varied and interesting career.\n\nTo help prepare you for such a career this course covers a diverse range of subject areas including rural professional practice, planning and development, valuation, building construction and management, and law. You will also develop an essential understanding of sustainability and wider business management to enable you to provide effective advice about farm, estate, and other rural businesses whilst gaining an understanding of the multi-functionality of rural practice. Furthermore, due to our partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), most of the graduates from this course will go on to complete the RICS 'Assessment of Professional Competence' to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor. In addition, the course can also prepare you to become a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
