"summary": "Can we improve survival and outcomes following traumatic injury? Severe injury triggers a sequence of changes within the cells of the body and can lead to critical and disabling illness. Learn to understand these changes and improve patients’ survival and recovery. Undertake this two-year online MSc and develop a broad, critical understanding of the up-to-date science and practice of trauma care.\n\nVideo: https://youtu.be/WmOLvFTQ1AY\n\n\n- Gain a thorough grounding in the principles underlying the disease of trauma\n\n\n- Learn from some of the UK’s leading trauma experts\n\n\n- Experience hands-on training at an optional summer school consistent with your scope of practice\n\n\n- Develop a broad and critical understanding of developments in trauma care and gain research skills through independent study\n\n\n- Accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England\n\n\n**What you'll study**\n\nMost young trauma patients have injuries which are survivable if they can receive appropriate medical treatment in time. In London, we are at the forefront of trauma care, and you can develop your skills to help patients have the best possible outcome.\n\nYou can access the programme wherever you are, and you will have the option of a two-week residential summer school in London. The MSc is a collaboration between the Barts Centre for Trauma Sciences (C4TS) and Queen Mary University of London's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.\n\nYou will have access to an international, expert faculty and innovative, technology-enhanced learning. You will take part in interactive discussion forums and one-to-one tutor sessions.\n\nThe optional two-week residential summer school takes place at the end of the first year in London. The summer school will give you simulated scenario training to complement your learning. You will gain practical knowledge and experience of decision-making so you can deliver safe, professional core clinical functions in the management of seriously injured patients. In your second year of study, you will write a dissertation on a specific area of knowledge, or you may undertake original research.\n\nStudents* gave this programme a score of 94% for aspects of teaching and learning, and 100% for dissertation support and feedback. Students* gave this course a 100% overall satisfaction rating.\n\n*Students who completed the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2024\n\n**Additional costs**\n\nYou will be responsible for your travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for the summer school.",
