        "modules": "- Maritime Education: Principles and Practice\nThe module aims to prepare maritime educators for the challenging and complex global landscape of maritime education. To achieve this, the module will examine the role of the maritime lecturer and understand the principles and practices of learning theory, curriculum design, course delivery, assessment, and student motivation.\n\n- The Global Legal Framework of Maritime Education\nThis module will develop students' knowledge and understanding of the global framework that regulates seafarer education. The content will focus on the four pillars of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and MLC conventions and the relationship with training. Students will discuss the requirements of the ISM Code in relation to training and the STCW Convention. Students will also be afforded familiarisation of environment, social, and governance in maritime.\n\n- Dissertation:\nThis module gives you the opportunity to apply your research and analytical skills to an area of maritime education which is of interest to you. The module consists of two parts: Project Proposal and Final Major Project. The Project Proposal element will develop your skills of inquiry and research required for your Final Major Project. You will gain a confident grasp of the study skills you need to succeed at master's level, as well as demonstrate analytical, research and report writing skills at a high level which is valued by employers.",

    "summary": "**Develop your pedagogic practice as a maritime educator and increase your understanding of international maritime conventions and their application in the classroom.**\n\nThis course aims to provide those working in the field of maritime education with the tools to deliver maritime education and training to a global workforce.\n\nDuring this two-year course, you'll gain a systematic and in-depth understanding of the global maritime education framework and develop a comprehensive understanding of educational theories, practices and application within the challenging and changing environment of maritime education. You'll also develop the knowledge, skills and specialist expertise to enhance professional practice and support educators across the maritime industry.\n\nYou will also develop your communication skills, enhance problem solving and technical skills, and fine tune your written and verbal skills through the use of presentations; creating videos, portfolios, or posters; designing a teaching plan; and writing essays and reports.\n\nThis is a distance learning course - materials and structured content will be available on the Solent Online Learning (SOL) platform, with directed learning available 24/7 for you to review, consider, and prepare for collaborative learning sessions which are held via Teams.\n\nThe taught provision will compose of a series of online modules.
