Active Enquiry and Intervention Impacting upon Learner Progress teaches you knowledge and skills in critical thinking, reflective practice, and action research to design, put in place, and critically check evidence-informed classroom interventions that enhance learner progress. Developing Subject Expertise and Subject Specialism helps you to identify and enhance your subject expertise within a chosen area. You'll apply relevant pedagogic models and critically reflect on their implementation to refine future practice.\n\nActive Enquiry and Intervention Impacting upon Learner Progress (Core Modules)\n\nLearning outcomes\nTo develop knowledge and understanding of critical thinking, reflective practice and educational research.\nTo develop an awareness of action research - its processes, practices and relevance for reflective educational practice and change.\nTo develop knowledge of pedagogy, through primary research and the critical evaluation of theory and literature.\nFor trainee teachers to carry out a classroom intervention informed by reading and research activity and to reflect critically on the process.\nTo demonstrate a practical appreciation of evidence-informed teaching.\nTo identify appropriate classroom strategies to develop learning and teaching which are informed through educational research, evidence and scholarship.\nTo apply classroom strategies informed by scholarship to a specific educational context and setting.\nDeveloping Subject Expertise and Subject Specialism (Core Modules)\n\nLearning outcomes\nTo use mechanisms to identify areas of development within the chosen subject.\nTo select one area of development to improve expertise.\nTo implement strategies to develop subject expertise within the chosen area of development.\nTo understand pedagogy and its impact upon learning within the chosen subject.\nTo identify the different pedagogic models related to the chosen area of development.\nTo develop and implement a pedagogic approach that is appropriate and relevant to context of the chosen area of development.\nTo reflect on the implementation of the pedagogic model and to identify modifications or adaptations for future practice.",

    "summary": "The PGCE Non-QTS is usually undertaken by those who are in training towards QTS or have already obtained QTS through alternative routes. Many of our current PGCE Non-QTS are also completing their Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship (PGTA) or Schools Direct Salaried (SDS) programmes through UEL or an external provider. The PGCE Non-QTS is suitable for applicants in a primary or secondary school setting.\n\nThis course is self-funded as it is not eligible for government funding. You may request sponsorship from your employer to support you with the course fees.\n\nIf you are not currently working towards QTS, or do not already hold QTS, you may be interested in several PGCE with QTS options that we offer at UEL instead. These routes are for applicants who are interested in beginning their journeys as teachers and would like to begin working towards a PGCE and QTS. There are several different routes to choose from. Please see below for further information about PGCE with QTS options.",
