"entryRequirements": "Minimum 2:2 honours degree in English Literature, English Language, Linguistics or a joint honours degree with at least 50% of these subjects.\n\nApplicants who do not have a substantial amount (50% minimum) of English / English Literature in their degree may be eligible for a Programme Preparation Portfolio course provided they have an A-level in either English Language or English Literature at grade B or above.\n\nMinimum 104 UCAS points at A Level, including at least a B in an English subject. C grade will be considered if you can demonstrate sustained academic progression since your A Level awards.\n\nMinimum grade C or 4 at GCSE (or equivalent) in English language and mathematics.\n\nThose successful at interview, who have not studied English Literature since GCSE level, will likely have an additional offer condition of Programme Preparation Portfolio. The UK English curriculum teaching currently relies heavily on literature knowledge, so this is a necessity to be a successful English teacher in the UK.",
