Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.",
"entryRequirements": "Applicants should normally have:\n\nA minimum of a 2:1 degree in a related subject area (such as Sports Science, Health Science, Physiology, Psychology) Or a non-UK physiotherapy qualification at HE diploma level and a minimum of one year of clinical experience.\n\nInternational qualifications:\n\nIf you have studied a non UK qualification, you can see how your qualifications compare to the standard entry criteria, by selecting the country that you received the qualification in, from our country pages. Visit www.northumbria.ac.uk/yourcountry \n\nEnglish Language requirements \n\nInternational applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with 6.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).\n\nPlus one of the following:\nInternational/English Language Requirements:\n \n\nInternational applicants are required to have one of the following English language qualifications, with grades as shown below.\n\n- A British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7.0 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 6.5\n\n- Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 51\n\nThe University also accepts many other English language qualifications and if you have any questions about our English language requirements, please contact the International Admissions Office and we will be glad to assist you\n\nAdditional:\nA suitable DBS Enhanced Certificate and satisfactory health checks are required. "summary": "**Please note this course is now closed to application for January 2026.**\n\nThis course is for people who want to help others to improve their movement – despite physical difficulties caused by illness, injury, disability or ageing.\n\nIn the UK all physiotherapists must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our course has been approved by HCPC and enables you to fulfil HCPC requirements. Employability rates following the course are excellent.\n\nThe course lasts for two years so that there is sufficient time for you to undertake six placements. In total you will accrue 1,000 hours of experience in a range of settings and contexts. \n\nThe advantages of this course include the breadth of our healthcare expertise, the variety of our placement opportunities, and the strong commitment to our values-based philosophy. Student satisfaction rates are exceptionally high.",
