"assessmentMethods": "You will not be required to take any exams. Your academic work will be assessed through coursework, such as essays and presentations.\n\nAt the end of each school placement, your teaching will be assessed to ensure you are making appropriate progress and have engaged with the five core areas as outlined in the Core Content Framework (CCF). This will ensure that you are able to meet the Teachers' Standards (DfE, 2011) by the end of the course.",
"entryRequirements": "An honours degree, preferably 2:2 or above, from a UK higher education institution or equivalent overseas qualification, relevant to your subject specialism (at least 50% of the degree content needs to be relevant to your subject specialism).\nGCSE grade 4 or above (C or above for examinations taken prior to 2017) in English and mathematics. If you do not meet the GCSE requirement in any of these subjects, we are happy for you to take your tests externally (via Equivalancy Testing or A*Star Equivalency).\nAll overseas qualifications must be accompanied by NARIC equivalence. \nAn enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service and Health checking process which identifies no concerns about suitability to teach.\nPlease note: apply for this course through the UK Department for Education portal.\nIf you are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an interview.",

"summary": "Kingston's Citizenship with Social Science PGCE is an exciting teacher training route for those who are passionate about developing actively engaged young citizens. You will be trained by leading practitioners in the area who will support your emergence as a highly effective, research-engaged teacher. \n\nThe course is designed to model dynamic, flexible and responsive teaching which you can use in your own practice. You will learn how to teach high-quality lessons and how to form partnerships in learning with other sites of education including museums, parliaments and courts of law. You will develop practical skills such as campaigning that form an important part of the subject. You will also develop a deeper understanding of key areas of subject knowledge in citizenship including democracy, the law and justice, human rights and diversity. The course will explore the curricular requirements associated with citizenship for 11-16 year olds as well as the key GCSE examinations. Where possible, you will have the opportunity to experience and develop your ability to teach at sixth-form level.\n\nThe course also includes an additional element of Social Science training, enabling you to receive support in teaching sociology, politics, psychology or philosophy in the 14-19 age group.
