"summary": "The MA and MFA Choreography offer a stimulating environment in which to explore and develop your choreographic practice and expertise.\n\nWhether you’re in the early stages of your career or an experienced dance artist, these programmes present opportunities to engage with contemporary ideas, concepts and propositions within the choreographic field.\n\nThe MFA Choreography is a two-year full-time programme. It shares the first year taught programme with the MA. An extended independent project forms the second year, providing time for in-depth research.\n\nThe taught programme of the MA (first year of the MFA) encourages you to explore your current practice and develop as develop as an innovative, independent choreographer.\n\n\n- You will encounter interdisciplinary perspectives and collaborative practices, creating work across a range of settings and media.\n\n\n- You will be challenged to experiment, take risks and continuously create: developing your individual artistic voice.\n\n\n- You will engage in critical dialogue with your work from a variety of perspectives. \n\n\n- Two of the modules offered in the taught component provide opportunities for collaborative exchanges with other artistic practices.\n\n\n- An independent project, will allow you build on the ideas encountered in the programme and undertake self-directed research, experimentation and reflection.\n\n\nThe MFA Extended Project is a self-directed module during which you consolidate your independent choreographic perspectives and practice.\n\n\n- You will create and present a substantial body of work that evidences your capacity to research and realise your ideas as a coherent choreographic project.\n",

"additionalAuditionInformation": "Admission to this programme is through the assessment of a online portfolio. You should upload or provide an online link to choreographed work that you have created. It should be between 12 -15 minutes in length, and include:\n\nan excerpt of a solo;\nan excerpt of a group work; and\nan excerpt of a rehearsal, workshop or class in which you are an active participant.\n\nYou should also include:\n\na comment on the material presented, and on the process for its creation/devising/realization; and\na comment on some of the artistic problems you encountered, and how you went about solving them.\n\nAdditional requirements for MFA\n\nApplicants should upload a proposal, outlining:\n\nthe reasons you wish to carry out an independent project over a full academic year;\nyour suitability for extended independent research in the context of an MFA Choreography; and\nthe nature of your intended research and a draft project timeline with indicated research outputs (which is understandably subject to change).\nApplicants to the MFA will also be required to undertake an interview (if not in person, phone/Skype interview can be arranged). \n\nInternational applicants are also invited to attend our undergraduate workshop/audition days on an informal basis where they will have the opportunity to meet with faculty staff and discuss their suitability for the programme.
