"summary": "This Masters provides an opportunity to develop your own theatre and performance practice in a critically informed context. You will be encouraged and supported to develop a reflective, rigorous and critically informed approach to creating your own work for performance. The programme encompasses practices such as contemporary devising and production dramaturgy, autobiographical performance, and socially/politically engaged practice. These critical perspectives will enhance and enrich your creative practice as we work to further your career as a theatre/performance practitioner/researcher.\n\n**WHY THIS PROGRAMME**\n- You'll have multiple opportunities to develop, present and receive feedback on your own theatre and performance practice. This involves mentoring by leading professional practitioners when you create your final practice as a research project.\n\n\n- The programme is delivered by leading academics in collaboration with theatre practitioners active in Glasgow's performance scene and beyond.\n\n\n- Programme leader is Dr. Graham Eatough, one of Scotland’s leading theatre practitioners with an international reputation for experimental and interdisciplinary work.\n\n\n- Mentors on the programme over recent years have included Richard Gregory, Ashanti Harris, Jenna Watt and Alan McKendrick.\n\n\n- Our facilities include a large flexible-seat theatre seating over 200 spectators as well as smaller studio spaces.\n\n\n- Glasgow is home to a huge variety of theatres that produce and show a range from the experimental and risky, to the traditional and repertory, from canonical and new writing, to devised and physical performance. World-leading venues include the Citizens’ Theatre, Tramway, Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) and the Glue Factory.\n\n\n- Students have the option to undertake a work placement, with Glasgow’s vibrant arts scene providing a range of opportunities to engage with diverse theatre and performance practices.\n\n\n**PROGRAMME STRUCTURE**\nStudents on this programme learn in a range of ways including in person and group discussion, verbal feedback and collaborative working.\n\nThe programme is designed to give you a practical and critical engagement with many forms of theatre and performance practice through a variety of core and optional courses.\n\nYou can take either an optional course or a work placement (agreed and negotiated with your tutor) according to your personal interests and perceived needs. Your optional course can be selected from across the College of Arts & Humanities, enabling an interdisciplinary approach.\n\nThe programme concludes with a Practice as Research Project. This provides you with a degree of flexibility in relation to the focus of your advanced study.
