"summary": "**4th in the UK for our research impact in Philosophy in REF 2021 (Times Higher Education)**\n\nDevelop an advanced understanding of the history of social and political thought and contemporary movements and philosophies. This interdisciplinary course will train you to be a confident, independent researcher.\n\nYou’ll learn from academics from a range of different disciplines, including philosophy, politics, sociology, intellectual history and law. You’ll be able to see the different perspectives those disciplines bring to the history and future development of social and political thought.\n\nThis MA has a research-based curriculum that is innovative and diverse. You’ll graduate with the ability to cross boundaries and draw on both empirical and normative analysis.\n\nYou’ll be part of a research community that is friendly, supportive, and committed to using knowledge for the greater benefit of society.\n\nThis course will prepare you for a fulfilling career. Recent Sussex graduates are working across the globe in academic institutions, law firms, tech companies, in business, in journalism, marketing and policy making.\n\nYou’ll also find Sussex graduates in schools and colleges, in health and social care, as well as in the Civil Service and at the United Nations. Our graduates have taken a broad range of career paths, from museum curation to television script writing, while others have become poets, musicians, stand-up comedians, entrepreneurs and Chief Executive Officers.\n\nWe understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus.
