"entryRequirements": "Stage 1 entry\n\n2:1 honours degree \nOR\n\na degree with a minimum average of 75% (or GPA 2.75) on your transcript.\nWe will also consider your application if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and at least two years of full-time experience as a translator or an interpreter.\n\nIf your first language is not English, you need IELTS 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in speaking and writing and 6.0 in listening and reading. This qualification must be no more than three years old on starting the course. No other English language qualifications are accepted. Pre-sessional English Language courses are not accepted as an alternative entry to this course.\n\nNative English-speaking applicants need to have good degree-level knowledge of Chinese. When applying, include evidence to support your second language proficiency qualification. You may need to take part in an interview in Chinese.\n\n\n\nStage 2 entry (advanced)\n\n2:1 honours degree\nOR\n\na degree with a minimum average of 80% (or GPA 3.0) on your transcript. \nYou must also have expert second-language knowledge.\n\nIf your first language is not English you need IELTS 7.5 with a minimum of 7.0 in all sub-sections. This qualification must be no more than three years old when you start the course. No other English language qualifications are accepted. Pre-sessional English Language courses are not accepted as an alternative entry to this course.\n\nNative English-speaking applicants to have good degree-level knowledge of Chinese. "summary": "With English and Chinese as working languages, our Translation and Interpreting MA will allow you to hone the skills you need to excel in your chosen professional domain.\n\nOur lecturers have a wealth of professional experience, both in-house and freelance. They have worked in the fields of translation, localisation, and conference interpreting.\n\nYou will gain an understanding of how theory and practice intersect in translation and interpreting. You’ll have access to our state-of-art conference interpreting suite. You’ll also benefit from both our industry experience and established connections.\n\nThe Translation and Interpreting Master's has two stages. Each stage lasts one year.\n\nYou can study for two years. In your first year, you’ll join the Translation and Interpreting MA. Then in your second year, you’ll continue on the Translation and Interpreting pathway or choose to study:\n\nConference Interpreting MA\nTranslation and Localisation MA\nTranslation Studies MA\n\nYou can also study for one year. You'll join the Translation and Interpreting MA directly at Stage 2. This option will depend on your previous qualifications and experience.",
