"entryRequirements": "Our normal entry requirement for the SPP is a 2:1; however, if you graduated with a 2:2 in your undergraduate degree we will still be able to consider you for admission if you submit your application through the Central Applications Board. When considering your application, we will look at the individual module marks obtained across all years of study on LLB, comments from your academic referee and your personal statement. If you would like an informal discussion with us before applying, please reach out to the admissions office for guidance.\n\nThe normal entry requirements for the course are as follows:\n\nA UK honours degree in law normally with a classification of 2.1 (though as above we will still be able to consider those with a 2:2 for admission)or above; OR\n\nA UK honours degree in a subject other than law with a classification of 2:1 or above AND a UK Graduate Diploma in Law (or equivalent graduate or postgraduate course that covers the necessary foundations of legal knowledge), normally with an average of at least 50% OR\n\nAn overseas degree (in any subject) with a classification equivalent to 2:1 or above AND a UK Graduate Diploma in Law (or equivalent graduate or postgraduate course that covers the necessary foundations of legal knowledge), normally with an average of at least 50%\n\nIt is possible for a person without a Law degree or Law conversion course (such as the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL)) to qualify as a solicitor (provided they have a degree in another subject or an equivalent qualification or work experience), however the SPP is designed for students who already have a sound grounding in the basic principles of law, so such applicants will not be accepted for this programme",

"summary": "The Solicitors’ Practice Programme (SPP) prepares you for the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) 1 and 2. It delivers comprehensive legal knowledge and practical skills training for the examinations within a realistic context. It also offers an LLM option, giving you a solid foundation for a career as a solicitor.\n\nBenefits of this course\nThe Solicitors’ Practice Programme is designed for those aspiring to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.\n\nTraining to be a solicitor is an exciting, yet challenging undertaking. The Law School has been training solicitors for decades, many of whom have gone on to achieve prized positions in the legal world, so you can be assured that we have the ideal programme to help you excel in the SQE and prepare you for a career as a solicitor.\n\nOver two 10-week terms, you will follow a carefully structured programme taught in small groups by qualified lawyers and covering the requisite material to prepare for the SQE 1 and SQE 2 respectively, equivalent to a Postgraduate Diploma.\n\nYou will have free-of-charge access to all course materials to prepare for the SQE for two years (including updates), even if you graduated on SPP.\n\nIf you select the Master of Laws (LLM) pathway, this will be followed by an additional five-week elective term and submission of a legal practice research project to deepen your understanding of an area of legal practice that is of particular interest to you.",
