With cutting-edge training, industry and NHS placements, and insights from leading experts, you’ll be equipped to drive impactful changes and improve patient care.\n\n**WHY THIS PROGRAMME**\n\n\n- Unique to Scotland: The only postgraduate course in Scotland dedicated to MedTech innovation, fostering a multi-disciplinary approach.\n\n\n- Opportunities for work placements and internships with the NHS, government bodies, and top MedTech companies.\n\n\n- Industry Collaboration: Partnered with West of Scotland Innovation Hub and industry leaders for hands-on experience.\n\n\n- Access to state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Glasgow, including Digital Health Validation Labs, NHS Clinical Research Facility, and industry sites.\n\n\n- A focus on AI and software as medical devices and how to work ethically with AI.\n\n\n- Training on how to liase with NHS and health boards from scoping to evidence generation.\n\n\n- Training on the scope of expansion and innovation business case.\n\n\n- Features guest lectures and workshops from leading professionals in the MedTech industry.\n\n\n- Regulations and ethics of MedTech products including AI and software: UK (MHRA), EU, FDA and international regulations.\n\n\n- Special advantage of studying in Glasgow, a hub for medical research and innovation incorporating the triple helix of Healthcare, Industry, and Academia. \n\n\n**PROGRAMME STRUCTURE**\n\nThis program will consist of the following core courses:\n\n\n- Identification & Evidence Generation of MedTech Solution (20 credits):\n\n\n- Design and Concept Development for MedTech & AI (10 credits)\n\n\n- Implementation of a MedTech Solution (10 credits)\n\n\n- Medical Ethics, Regulations, and Governance (20 credits)\n\n\n- Bridging the Multi-Modal Data Gap for MedTech & AI (20 credits)\n\n\n- Innovation and Entrepreneurship for MedTech Solutions (10 credits)\n\n\n- AI and Software as Medical Device (20 credits)\n\n\n- MedTech: Route to Market (10 credits)\n\n\n- Project (60 credits)\n\n\nThis final project is an intensive, 12-week capstone experience that brings together all aspects of MedTech and AI learning. Students choose to develop either their own innovative idea or work on existing projects from academic and industry partners such as SMEs, university spin-offs, government bodies , Scottish innovation hubs, NHS, and multiple other relevant partners. At the end of their project, students will participate in our ‘Innovation Day’ where they will present their projects to key stakeholders in the MedTech Industry and will get the opportunity to gain connections and exposure within this fast-moving sector.\n\nThis program will be delivered using the following modes of teaching:\n\n\n- A blend of lectures, seminars, site visits, and placements\n\n\n- Design sprints & hackathons\n\n\n- Hands-on innovation workshops within engineering groups, and industry partners\n\n\n- Role-llaying & simulations to mimic real-world workplace scenarios like regulatory audits, crisis management in healthcare setting, design thinking\n\n\n- Live case studies, incorporating projects in partnership with MedTech companies or NHS, enabling students to work on current problems\n\n\n- Entrepreneurial bootcamps & pitch competitions to simulate startup accelerator\n\n\n- Innovation day to showcase their ideas to various stakeholders in the MedTech Industry\n\n\nTo enhance accessibility, we will also deliver the courses in a fusion format, combining in-person and online recordings. This approach is particularly beneficial for professionals.\n\nGraduates have the option to complete 60 credits for a Postgraduate Certificate, 120 credits for a Postgraduate Diploma, or the full 180 credits for a Master of Science degree on an intermittent basis, subject to University approval.",
