"entryRequirements": "Applicants will have a minimum 2:1 UK undergraduate degree, or equivalent and evidence of academic study in the five years prior to application. Preferred subject areas include Health, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Education or Humanities.\n\nApplicants must meet requirements for NHS values-based assessment at interview, Occupational Health Assessment and have a satisfactory enhanced DBS report.\n\nApplicants whose first language is not English must be able to communicate in English to the standard equivalent to level 7 of the International English Language Testing system (IELTS), with no element below 6.5. This is a requirement of the Standards of Proficiency for Occupational Therapists (HCPC 2023).",

"summary": "**26/27 This is an accelerated course that starts in the first week of September and is delivered over 45 weeks each year.**\n\n**Applications for the September 2027 intake will not be considered during the current admissions cycle.** \n\n**Prospective applicants are advised to apply from September 2026.**\n\nOccupational therapists work with people whose daily lives are impacted by physical, mental, or social issues. This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.\n\nOur MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) course is an accelerated postgraduate degree, designed for graduates who wish to become a registered occupational therapist. You'll develop flexible skills essential to becoming an occupational therapist in statutory and non-statutory health and social care organisations locally and across the UK. \n\nThis two-year, full-time course incorporates placements over both years. You’ll have first-hand experience collaborating with occupational therapists working with people of all ages, with various occupational needs, in a wide range of environments. \nOur teaching team consists of occupational therapists and other health care professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds. \n\nThis course is accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council. \n\n**Features and benefits**\n\n\n- **Accelerated course** - An accelerated postgraduate pathway into occupational therapy practice, you'll gain the experience and skills required to register as an occupational therapist in two years rather than three. \n\n\n- **Real world experience** - On this course you’ll spend at least 1,000 hours on placements developing your practical skills and gain exposure to different healthcare settings.\n\n\n- **Specialist facilities** - You'll learn in our dedicated facilities on-campus, which includes practice rooms and simulation technology.\n\n\n- **Become a registered professional** - When you graduate, you’re eligible to apply for registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and for full membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).\n\n\n- **Sustainability** – You'll study at one of the top ranked UK universities for sustainability, with carbon literacy embedded in the programme and an opportunity to gain an externally-assessed Carbon Literacy Certificate. \n",
