"modules": "Sports Therapy Research Project\nThis module allows the you to undertake an independent research project in an area of sports therapy and exercise science. It you to demonstrate an understanding of ethics, research design and methods in the form of execution of an empirical collection of data or secondary analysis of existing data within the literature pool.\n\nFunctional Anatomy and Human Movement\nThis module provides knowledge and understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and human movement. You'll gain a thorough knowledge of osteology, neurology, myology and arthrology of the human body in both theoretical and practical perspectives.\n\nTherapeutic Modalities\nThis module introduces practical skills and theoretical knowledge around a variety of therapeutic modalities available to the sports therapist. This includes soft tissue therapies (e.g. massage), manual therapies (e.g. peripheral joint mobilisations), electrotherapy treatments, taping and alternative therapies.\n\nPeripheral Injury Assessment and Clinical Skills \nThis module provides you with the knowledge and understanding of pre-treatment screening. This includes peripheral joint assessments (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot), postural assessments, anthropometric testing and special tests. It will develop a critical overview of common sports injuries which will develop clinical reasoning to be applied in injury assessment.\n\nClinical Placement\nThis module gives you the opportunity to complete supervised clinical placement hours to become eligible for membership of the professional body. You'll also develop advanced first aid and trauma management practical skills, enabling them to handle a variety of situations within sport and exercise both safely and effectively.\n\nStrategies for Injury Prevention \nThis module introduces concepts within biomechanics and physiology that can contribute to injury prevention. This includes topics such as peripheral and central fatigue, biomechanical movement strategies, epidemiology, aetiology, and how different tissues respond to load. The module is designed to allow you to explore these concepts both theoretically and practically, challenging you to apply different analytical approaches to problems.\n\nClinical Reasoning and Spinal Injury Assessment \nThis module will advance your holistic approach to the assessment and management of sports injuries, developing skills to become an evidence-based practitioner with the ability to justify treatment plans. This includes the management of special populations or those with special considerations. Additionally, the ability to undertake spinal examinations and mobilisations safely and effectively will be developed.\n\nSport and Exercise Rehabilitation \nThis module will develop a knowledge and critical understanding of principles associated with exercise rehabilitation programmes that aim to return athletes back to full functional fitness. It will highlight the different stages of rehabilitation linked to tissue healing theory and provide opportunities to critique current and contemporary literature for a variety of common sports musculoskeletal injuries.",
