"summary": "Mental health nursing is a constantly evolving field, with as many as one in four people experiencing a mental health issue each year. We'll help you to meet the challenges of effective mental health care provision.\n\nYou'll gain practice experience in a wide range of in-patient and community settings, reflecting the diversity of mental health specialities. This could include acute psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, forensic psychiatry, eating disorders, substance use and rehabilitation.\n\nEmployability\nThis course will equip you with the skills to work in a diverse range of mental health nursing roles across a range of settings, including the NHS and the private health care sector. Successful completion of the course fulfils the requirements for graduates to be able to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse - Mental Health.\n\nTime spent on placement\nDuring the course you will spend time involved in both academic study and clinical practice within a broad variety of healthcare settings. A clinical practice placement allows you to put theory into practice by working with a range of health professionals in clinical situations to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required to become a competent nurse. Although sometimes initially challenging, practice learning is one of the most interesting and exciting aspects of learning to be a nurse.\n\nPersonal tutoring\nAs a Health and Social Care student, you will be allocated a named tutor during your first three weeks at LSBU. The role of your tutor is to be your primary contact for academic and professional development support.\nYour tutor will support you to get the most of your time at LSBU, providing advice and signposting to other sources of support in the University. They should be the first person at the university that you speak to if you are having any difficulties that are affecting your work. These could be academic, financial, health-related or another type of problem.",

"sponsorshipInformation": "Since August 2018 new postgraduate pre-registration nursing, midwifery and allied health professional students have been able to access loans from the Student Loans Company. Accessing loans provides at least 25% more up-front living cost support whilst you study. You will also have access to the Learning Support Fund, which is administered by the NHS Business Services Authority, for support while attending clinical placements.\n\nBackground to these changes can be found on Gov.uk.\n\nCouncil of Deans have prepared a briefing paper and Student Finance have outlined who qualifies. The Funding Clinic provides further information on what support is available.\n\nNHS Bursary will produce guidelines and information once the information has received parliamentary approval.\n\nMSc students, please note: you are able to apply for a £9250 student finance loan each year but this will not cover the full cost of the second year of this course.",
