"summary": "This programme is suitable for:\n\nIndividuals seeking a career in health and social care practice across a range of professional settings.\nLearners wanting a stand-alone higher education qualification or those intending to progress to the second year of a relevant university degree or a Level 5 HND.\nThose wishing to gain a recognised HE qualification while continuing to work.\nStudy methods\nThe HNC has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1,200 hours, which represents the average time required to complete the qualification.\n\n40% (480 hours) is delivered on campus through lectures and workshops\nApproximately 15 hours per week: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday\nTime is split between taught lessons and supported research-based workshops.\n\n60% (720 hours) is dedicated to independent study, including:\nCompleting assignments\nSelf directed research\nStudy in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).\n\nIn addition, students must complete a minimum of 225 hours of work placement within the health and care sector.\nHow is the course assessed?\nAssessment methods include:\n\nCoursework assignments and Pearson set assessments\nStructured tasks and written reports\nWritten tests\nPractical activities such as work placement assessments, presentations, and oral examinations.\n\nFor students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (OfS). The OfS has published providers on its Register and HRUC (and HCUC as we were know before Jan 2023) has been registered since 10 December 2018. Please visit www.officeforstudents.org.uk for more information.\n\nIt’s an exciting time to be a higher education student at HRUC, as alongside your course you also have the opportunity and support to become an HRUC Graduate.\n\nAs a higher education student at HRUC you will be able to participate in a range of extra-curricular enrichment opportunities and activities to gain essential employability skills to enable you to become even more work-ready. These are additional skills, over and above your main qualification, that will help you to further develop yourself, increase your knowledge and skills and prepare you for university or the workplace.",
