"summary": "Civil Engineers are responsible for the design and implementation of a wide range of infrastructure, energy and construction projects. The focus in these varies, from consultation, design and advisory, to site-based work. The HNC Civil Engineering provides the relevant qualification for a Civil Engineering Technician.\n\nYou will benefit from strong industry links and professional practice, giving you the skills required to improve your employment opportunities in this key industry sector. The programme has the support of local employers such as Pat Munro, Mott MacDonald and The Highland Council. \n\nThe course is delivered for students employed in the sector as trainee Civil Engineering Technicians (Inverness and Perth) as well as for anyone with industry experience or the minimum academic qualifications and seeking to enter the Civil Engineering discipline (Perth only).\n\nInverness students will enjoy regular site visits, guest presenters and work-based learning designed to enhance your experience. Work-based learning builds on your experiences as a Civil Engineering trainee/technician and uses your experience in the learning and teaching, but also as workplace evidence to achieve vocational qualifications.\n\nAll Perth students will receive visits from industry experts as guest speakers. Students on the full-time, part-time, and day-release options may take part in site visits and work placements. Evening students may also enjoy site visits with your colleagues and undertake daytime work placements, dependent on the nature of your employment.\n\nYou will be taught by a team of enthusiastic lecturers with extensive experience and varied qualifications.
