"summary": "This course is designed for creative thinkers who want to shape how fashion is communicated, understood, and consumed in a rapidly evolving global industry.\n\nDelivered at JCA’s Boston Manor campus, this course explores fashion from a responsible, inclusive, and future-focused perspective, equipping you with the creative, strategic, and technical skills needed to tell powerful fashion stories across image, film, writing, and digital platforms.\n\n**What you will learn**\n\nYou’ll learn how fashion communication influences culture, identity, and behaviour and how creative practitioners can challenge conventions, promote ethical practice, and drive meaningful change.\n\nThis course brings together creative practice, design thinking, marketing insight, and cultural theory to prepare you for a wide range of roles across fashion, media, branding, and the wider creative industries.\n\nYou’ll develop:\n\n\n- A strong creative voice across visual and written formats\n\n\n- Skills in image-making, film, content creation, and publication design\n\n\n- Knowledge of branding, marketing communication, and consumer behaviour\n\n\n- Confidence using analogue and digital design techniques and industry-standard software\n\n\n- A clear understanding of responsible, inclusive, and ethical fashion communication\n\n\n**For Integrated Foundation Year**\n\nThe Integrated Foundation Year is built into the course as the first stage of the four-year degree, supporting your creative and academic development before progressing to Level 4.\n\nThrough project-led, problem-based learning, you’ll build core skills in creative thinking, visual communication, research, and academic practice. The Foundation Year provides a supportive, exploratory environment that prepares you to move confidently into the undergraduate stages of the course.\n\nBy enrolling at the Foundation level, you are committing to four years of study, progressing seamlessly from Level 3 through to Level 6.\n\n**Optional Placement Year**\nThe placement year will be recognised on the degree transcript and the applicant will need to decide on this option before the start of the course. The placement year option could be used with regular Hons degree or with Integrated Foundation.
