"entryRequirements": "It is essential that applicants have:\nA Certificate in Counselling Skills (level 3 or above) which includes a minimum of 80 hours classroom-based teaching and training. Your qualification will need to have had a strong grounding in theory, experiential and personal development. Your Certificate must have been gained within the last 5 years.\n\nAn honours degree of 2:2 or above in any subject. Applicants who do not meet this requirement but have relevant work experience in a public facing profession (for example, voluntary work, teaching, nursing, social work) are welcomed and will be assessed on an individual basis. \n\nPersonal skills suited to working as a therapist.\n\nThe ability and strong commitment to follow a personally demanding part-time course.\n\nRecent experience (within the last 12 months) of using Counselling Skills either in a paid or voluntary setting.\n\nWe also strongly recommend that you have had personal experience of counselling therapy before starting the course.\n\nYour personal statement should state:\n\nYour reasons for wishing to follow the course and the use to which it will be put.\n\nYour understanding of what is meant by 'counselling'.\n\nAny background education, personal experience (self-reflection), involvement or interest that is relevant to your application.\n\nAny other relevant information (for example, any relevant experience in a counselling/helping setting).\n\nWe are unable to accept applications from people who require a student visa.\n\nVisit us at one of our Open Events to get a real sense of our courses and life at UWE Bristol.\n\nHealth assessment/declaration\n\nApplicants must be in good health. Those offered a place are required to complete a questionnaire and be prepared to undergo a medical examination if necessary.\n\nDisclosure of Criminal Background\n\nThe Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 does not apply and all convictions, including those which are spent, must be disclosed. This is in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants who are offered a place must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and will be required to complete a Disclosure Application Form. All information will be treated in confidence and only taken into account when absolutely necessary.",

Study time\n\nThe MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy is a three-year, part-time course requiring you to attend one day a week and spend a minimum of half a day per week on placement throughout the course along with allocating 15 hours per week towards individual study time. Additionally, you will have clinical supervision for at least 1.5 hours per month and at your own expense will be required to attend therapy yourself for an hour per week.",
